COME AND SEE AUSTRALIA

Brisbane is an international hub with direct flights from many Pacific Islands, Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific West Coast of the US and Canada.

Our low exchange rate makes it even more affordable to come to Queensland, and see more of ‘down under’ while you are here. In and around Brisbane, you can discover some of the best of what Australia has to offer.

Further afield there are even more exciting things to discover. Here are some highlights:

ULURU

This massive rock that rises out of the centre of Australia in the Northern Territory is sacred to Indigenous Australians. While you can no longer climb to the summit out of respect to aboriginal people, you can walk around this amazing geological formation as well as the nearby Olga rock formations. Uluru is a bit like the Himalayas and the Grand Canyon – photographs don’t seem to capture the scale of the place and grandeur and just how WOW it is.

SYDNEY

Sydney is home to famous landmarks the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, Centrepoint Tower and the beautiful harbour itself. There’s so much to see and do here you’ll need more than a day and night to fit it all in. Just 2 hours from Sydney, the Blue Mountains have iconic landscape features like The Three Sisters, great walks and rock climbing.

BYRON BAY

One of Australia’s world class surfing locations and the most eastern point of Australia, complete with work lighthouse. Surf with the dolphins, enjoy some of the healthiest, new-wave food in Australia and climb Mt Warning.

NORTH QUEENSLAND

Experience the lush tropical rainforest of the Daintree. Catch a catamaran to the outer Great Barrier Reef and enjoy some amazing snorkelling in the middle of the year – best time to visit FNQ. Visit Cairns and hop on the scenic Kuranda sky-rail and just chill in the tropics.

LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY

The closest place to see koalas (only 15 mins from IH) as well as other native Australian animals including kangaroos and emus. Cuddle a koala or feed come kangaroos. There’s a great café there to enjoy coffee or lunch.

MELBOURNE

The culinary capital of Australia where you can dine, shop and enjoy the best coffees. So many sights to see including the MCG sporting arena, beautiful parks and nearby St Kilda beach. Enjoy a tram ride.

GREAT OCEAN ROAD

An amazing coastal drive not far from Melbourne that takes to you quaint bays and rugged sea cliffs and world-famous sights including the 12 Apostles, London Bridge and numerous lighthouses on what was once called the Shipwreck Coast.

TASMANIA

Australia’s southernmost state and island, Tasmania is a tourist destination because of its natural wonders including ancient forests, caves, national parks, white beaches and a delectable local food providores like apples and cherries and wineries, distilleries, and breweries galore.
